Library Stories

Has your library made a difference in your life? Please tell us your story!

With the tough economy, budget cuts are a real threat to library services. They have impacted our hours of operation, children’s programming, collection development, librarian training and much more.  Your stories help us illustrate why funding local public library services is so important.  They can make a difference!

Please tell us why libraries matter to you.  Describe how you use the Redford Township District Library, share your memories, or communicate the library’s importance to you, your family, and your community.  Here are some ideas:

  • How does the library make our community a better place?
  • What's your most memorable experience at the library?
  • How has the library made a difference in your life?
  • What have you learned or done at the library that made a difference?
  • How have librarians helped you?
  • Why do you use the library?
  • Why does your library deserve everyone's support?
  • What's YOUR library story?

For some examples of library stories, look at the Living Stories, Living Libraries tumblr page.

i like the library because i get to go on the computer and do my home work because my computer is down. sometime i play on the computer here. i like to get books to help with school and i just like to read sometimes not all the time. this is what i like about the library.

I remember when the round library was opened behind the police station. I think it was 1963. I was 11 at the time. It was a great design for it's time. Enjoyed going there to get books out!
